Word from the Director General

Welcome to the July edition of MW Team Update, the online newsletter for all those who develop, deliver, and facilitate morale and welfare services, programs and activities.

During the course of the summer, we will be publishing our Non-Public Property (NPP) Annual Report for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.  This year’s report will be different from previous years.  We have created a colourful poster that will be distributed through Maple Leaf and Canadian Forces Newspapers. 

One side of the poster features an overview of the ways that the military community participates in growth of your NPP and the NPP programs that exist to meet your needs. The other side contains a map of Canada with highlights of your NPP dollars at work,featuring various stories from Bases, Units and Wings across the country.  A detailed and interactive virtual magazine version of the Annual Report will be accessible from the CFPFSS website. This will contain a thorough review of NPP programs and activities, as well as the financial overview. 

Another exciting initiative launched this summer is the Canadian Forces Community Gateway, which is now live nationally (effective June 30).  This concept was initiated to address the need for a consistent Morale and Welfare Web presence across all Bases and Wings.  Local personnel have been working hard to complete pages that provide key information about services and programs available locally to military personnel and their families.  I encourage you to visit www.CFCommunityGateway.ca to view this invaluable information tool.
